Hotels and stories
Nicolas Saltiel | Fondateur de CHAPITRE SIX
Writing and bringing stories to life, breathing new life into Sleeping Beauties, and creating unique atmospheres to welcome guests: this is the Chapitre Six group’s raison d’être. Highlighting iconic venues, sharing the modernity of authentic atmospheres, celebrating every visit, day and night, and (re)inventing homes…
Every place has its own story and its own experience, bridging the past and the future, dreams and reality.
In Paris, of course – in Montmartre, the Marais, on the Grands Boulevards, in Saint-Germain, near the Opéra Garnier or the Champs-Élysées. In Saint-Tropez and Cap d’Antibes, very soon in the Barbizon Forest, and soon in the mountains…
The evenings are balmy, the atmosphere is lively, and guests delight as much in the colourful interplay of the décor as in the flavour combinations devised by culinary connoisseurs. Just like at home, you look around, you enjoy the moment, and you come back again.
The values of our hotels
Every CHAPITRE SIX property shares a set of common values: the expression of a unique sense of style and a commitment to excellence.
Unique places
Each venue is a favourite, a building whose character has captivated and touched the soul of a talented architect. Together with the teams around us—artistic directors, musicians, landscape architects and restaurateurs—we strive to make them even more unique. Conceived, designed and decorated based on the history of the venue, they are an expression of their surroundings and atmosphere. They have a distinct style, a unique sound, a particular scent…
With a remarkable location
In the city, by the sea or in the heart of a village. Whether in an urban setting, on the edge of a forest or by the beach, our properties are set against a variety of backdrops. They stand out for their history, their architectural or artistic heritage, or the beauty of their surroundings. They are sometimes—or often—legendary places. Because the magic begins long before the journey. Choosing a hotel means deciding to treat yourself to a special moment, to let your imagination run wild and to dream.
Just like home
Whether it’s a Haussmann-style or Art Nouveau building, a townhouse or a holiday home by the water, our boutique hotels—ranging from 20 to 50 rooms—offer travellers an intimate, family-like atmosphere that reflects our history and our vision of hospitality. The quality of our welcome and our guests’ comfort are our guiding principles. They are welcomed as guests, as friends with whom we will forge bonds.
Cheerful and lively
We play backgammon on the terrace late at night. We dance under the Mediterranean sun, feet in the sand. We laugh with the market gardener next door. We meditate at the end of a jetty in Saint-Tropez. A zest for life, warmth and a laid-back atmosphere. A friendly spirit reigns within the teams. They share their passions with guests – singing, drawing, music… The men and women who bring our hotels to life are passionate about hospitality and the hotel industry.
Elegant
All our properties are 4 or 5-star establishments, embodying a chic and refined French spirit. Particular attention is paid to detail and the perfect balance of the décor. There is no ostentation, but rather strong artistic and cultural choices. Without going over the top. They possess that certain je ne sais quoi of distinction, of understated luxury and informality.
And of the highest standard
Housed in buildings that are often centuries old, all our properties offer exceptional comfort and services worthy of the finest French hotels. The bedding in the rooms is meticulously selected, and the bathrooms are spacious and unique. In the rooms, special care is taken – with the help of specialists – to ensure soundproofing, lighting and the olfactory experience are all of the highest standard. The spas offer exclusive treatments and services in collaboration with renowned partners such as Tigre Yoga and La Mer. Depending on the hotel’s atmosphere, the restaurants range from fine-dining establishments—including one with a Michelin star—to sunny, creative eateries. The bar is the centrepiece, a cosy and glamorous meeting place – refined and intimate at George, or lively at Baba in Antibes.

Hôtel Monsieur George
17, rue Washington, Paris 8e
“You’re strolling along the Champs-Élysées between Avenue Montaigne and the Arc de Triomphe. Timeless and majestic. A small side street. A step to the side. And there you are, opening the door to a chic and discreet English-style house. You find yourself in a bar that seems to exist outside of time. The antique mirrors, the emerald-green zellige tiles and the smoked-glass globes evoke memories of a distant journey, of a colonial era. A hidden garden appears as a backdrop behind the floor-to-ceiling windows. As if, far from the crowds, there were always something to…
As if, far from the crowds, there were always something new to discover.
From the white rooms under the eaves, the Eiffel Tower glitters in the distance, reminding you that you are in Paris.
Monsieur George is situated in the heart of Paris’s Golden Triangle. Designed by Anouska Hempel, the Haussmann-style building on Rue Washington has been transformed into a mysterious palace with British touches. The 46 spacious rooms offer a different atmosphere on each floor, featuring black lacquer, mirrors and glass ceilings. On the top floor, the five bright and airy rooms and suites offer sweeping views across Paris. In the evening, in the majestic Galanga dining room, the Michelin-starred gourmet restaurant serves a creative menu. Chef Thomas Danig cooks by instinct. He favours cooking methods that highlight the natural flavours of the ingredients, such as flame-grilling or Japanese barbecue. Extend the magic with a cocktail at the bar. Or on the terrace of a suite, sheltered by the private garden. A small flight of stairs leads to the spa, which offers treatments, a hammam, a sauna and a gym. Monsieur George was created in 2020 by Anouska Hempel, the British pioneer of the boutique hotel concept. Renowned for her originality and influence, she has imbued this Parisian building with a romantic and dreamlike atmosphere. Originally from New Zealand, now living in England after growing up in Australia, Anouska Hempel is a tireless traveller. A modern-day adventurer. She has drawn on all these influences to create Monsieur George, whose deep greens are reminiscent of the banks of the Bosphorus, the river that forms the boundary between the West and the East.

Hôtel Hana
17, rue du Quatre-Septembre, Paris 2e
“An invitation to dream. And to travel. Far away to Kyoto or Osaka. Just a stone’s throw from the Opéra and Paris’s Japanese quarter. Hana (flower) is a ‘jewel box’. An artfully arranged bouquet of flowers. Light filtering through, soft and gentle, from a paper screen. Outside, a cherry tree in bloom. Luxury blends with harmony and simplicity.”
“A lacquer finish with sparkling gold powder is meant to be seen in a dimly lit space. It evokes indescribable emotions.” In Praise of Shadows, Junichirô Tanizaki. It is as much a part of Japanese interior design as it is of architecture: an art of contrasts. Both a cocoon and a boudoir, created from a mix-and-match of materials, fabrics and colours. A design that blends the sophistication of the Belle Époque with pure Japanese minimalism, created by a duo: interior designer Laura Gonzalez and Artistic Director Olivier Leone. The 26 rooms, including one suite and one apartment, invite guests to relax. Meticulous attention to detail in a gentle, authentic atmosphere. Refined touches of minimalism. Designed by Shirley Garrier, the Hanabi restaurant and bar, with its open kitchen, bridges the gap between traditional bistros and Japanese haute cuisine. To find a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the wellness area, in partnership with Lymfea, offers a swimming pool, two treatment rooms for Japanese-inspired energy treatments, and a cosy fitness area. The art of self-care reigns supreme.
