Hotels and their stories
Nicolas Saltiel | Founder of CHAPITRE SIX

Chapitre Six’s raison d’être is to write stories and bring them to life, to restore Belles Endormies to their former glory and to create unique atmospheres to welcome travellers. Telling the stories of iconic addresses, sharing the modernity of authentic ambiences, celebrating each visit, day or night, (re)inventing homes…Chapitre Six’s raison d’être is to write stories and bring them to life, to restore Belles Endormies to their former glory and to create unique atmospheres to welcome travellers. Telling the stories of iconic addresses, sharing the modernity of authentic ambiences, celebrating each visit, day or night, (re)inventing homes… Each place has its own story, its own experience, between past and future, dream and reality.
In Paris of course, in Montmartre, the Marais, the Grands Boulevards, Saint-Germain, near the Opera Garnier or the Champs Élysées. In Saint-Tropez and Cap d’Antibes, very soon in the Barbizon forest or soon in the mountains…The nights are cosy, the tables are cheerful, and you can enjoy the colourful décor and the flavour combinations created by the aesthetes of taste. It’s like being at home, watching, experiencing and returning.

Hotel values

Each CHAPITRE SIX house shares common values: the expression of an original taste and a constant quest for excellence.

Unique places
Each address is a ‘coup de coeur’, a building whose personality has seduced and touched the soul of a talented architect. With the teams that surround us – artistic directors, musicians, landscapers, restaurateurs – we strive to make them even more unique. Conceived, designed and decorated based on the history of the address, they are an expression of their environment and its atmosphere. They have a style, a music, a particular smell…

With a remarkable location
In the city, by the sea or in the heart of a village. Urban landscape, forest edge or beach: our addresses have a variety of settings as backdrops. Because of their history, their architectural or artistic heritage or the beauty of their surroundings. They are sometimes, or often, mythical places. Because the magic begins long before the journey. Choosing a hotel means deciding to treat yourself to a moment, projecting yourself and fantasising.

Like a house
A Haussmann-style or Art Nouveau building, a town house or a waterside holiday home. Genuine boutique hotels with 20 to 50 rooms, travellers can immerse themselves in an intimate, family-style environment that reflects our history and our vision of the hotel industry. We are guided by the quality of our welcome and the comfort of our customers. They are received as guests, with whom we will build relationships.

Cheerful and lively
Playing backgammon on the terrace late at night. We dance under the Mediterranean sun, our feet in the sand. Laughing with the market gardener next door. Meditating at the end of a pontoon in Saint-Tropez. Joie de vivre, warmth and relaxation. There’s a good-natured spirit among the teams. They share their passions – singing, drawing, music… The men and women who run our hotels are passionate about hospitality and the hotel business.

Elegant
All our hotels have 4 or 5 stars, reflecting the French spirit of chic and refinement. Particular attention is paid to detail and the right decor. No ostentation, but strong artistic and cultural statements. Without overdoing it. They have a touch of distinction, of discreet, unceremonious luxury.

And standing
Housed in buildings that are often several hundred years old, our hotels all offer a high level of comfort and services worthy of the French haute-hôtellerie. The bedding in the rooms is meticulously selected, and the bathrooms are spacious and unusual. In the rooms, special care is taken with the help of specialists in soundproofing, lighting and the olfactory experience. The Spa offers exclusive treatments and services with renowned partners such as Tigre Yoga and La Mer. Depending on the atmosphere of the hotel, the restaurants range from gourmet restaurants, including one with a Michelin star, to sunny, creative cuisine. The bar is a focal point, a cosy and glamorous meeting place, refined and hushed at George or feverish at Baba à Antibes.

Monsieur Georges Hotel

17, rue Washington, Paris 8e

‘You stroll along the Champs-Élysées between Avenue Montaigne and the Arc de Triomphe. Timeless and majestic. A little side street. A side step. And you open the door to a chic and discreet English house. You arrive in a timeless bar. The antique mirrors, emerald green zellige and smoked glass globes evoke memories of a distant journey, of a colonial era. A hidden garden appears as a backdrop behind picture windows. As if, far from the crowds, there was always something to discover.
From the white rooms under the roofs, the Eiffel Tower sparkles in the distance, reminding you that you are in Paris.

Monsieur George is located in the heart of Paris’ Golden Triangle. Designed by Anouska Hempel, the Haussmann-style building on rue Washington has been transformed into a mysterious palace with a British accent. The 46 spacious rooms offer a different world on each floor, with black lacquers, mirrors and skylights. On the top floor, the 5 luminous, airy rooms and suites offer views over the whole of Paris. In the evening, in the majestic Galanga room, the Michelin-starred gourmet restaurant offers a creative menu. Chef Thomas Danig cooks by instinct. He favours raw cooking over a flame or Japanese barbecue to bring out the best in the produce. Extend the magic with a cocktail at the bar. Or on the terrace of a suite sheltered by the private garden. A small staircase leads to the Spa, which offers treatments, a hammam, a sauna and a gym. Monsieur George was created in 2020 by the British pioneer of the boutique-hotel concept, Anouska Hempel. Renowned for her originality and influence, she has taken a romantic, dreamlike look at this Parisian building. Originally from New Zealand, Anouska Hempel moved to England after growing up in Australia, and is a tireless traveller. An adventurer of her time. She has brought all these influences together to create Monsieur George, whose deep greens are reminiscent of the banks of the Bosphorus, the border river between East and West.

Hana Hotel

17, rue du Quatre-Septembre, Paris 2e

‘An invitation to dream. And to travel. A long way to Kyoto or Osaka. Just a stone’s throw from the Opéra and the Japanese quarter of Paris. Hana (flower) is a ‘jewellery box’. A composed bouquet of flowers. Light filtering through a paper partition. Outside, a cherry blossom. Luxury combined with harmony and simplicity’.

‘A lacquer with sparkling gold powder is meant to be seen in a dark place. It elicits inexpressible resonances.’ In Praise of the Shadow, Tanizaki Junichirô.
Japanese decoration, like architecture, is an art of contrasts. Both a cocoon and a boudoir made from a mix and match of materials, fabrics and colours.
A décor imagined between the sophistication of a (Belle) Époque and pure Japanese minimalism, created by a tandem: interior designer Laura Gonzalez and Artistic Director Olivier Leone. The 26 rooms, including 1 suite and 1 flat, invite you to relax. Perfection of detail in a soft, authentic atmosphere. Refined bubbles of minimalism. Designed by Shirley Garrier, the Hanabi restaurant-bar with its open kitchen bridges the gap between the traditional bistro and Japanese gastronomy. For a serene retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city, the wellness area, in partnership with Lymfea, offers a swimming pool, two cabins for Japanese-inspired energy treatments, and a cosy fitness area. The art of pampering reigns supreme.
