Moderne Art Fair 2025: An exceptional edition dedicated to photography and the passion of collecting
From October 23 to 26, 2025, Moderne Art Fair will take over a new and prestigious venue: Place de la Concorde, in the heart of Paris’s 8th arrondissement. For this new edition, the fair will be held in elegant, light-filled temporary pavilions, creating a unique setting that is both contemporary and historic, perfectly in tune with the spirit of the event.
Within these exceptional structures, Moderne Art Fair 2025 presents a remarkable highlight: an outstanding exhibition dedicated to contemporary photography, centered around the discreet yet pivotal commitment of a visionary collector, Jérôme Prochiantz.
For the first time at an international art fair, a selection of works from his private collection will be unveiled to the public. Passionate about photographic imagery and deeply engaged in promoting the medium, Jérôme Prochiantz has, in recent years, established himself as one of the most respected collectors of his generation. His sharp eye—marked by curiosity, generosity, and rigor—has allowed him to build a collection of rare coherence.
Institutional recognition of his commitment came swiftly: in 2024, his major donation to the Bibliothèque nationale de France (BnF) left a lasting impression. Comprising 368 exceptional prints, this gift significantly enriched the collections of the Department of Prints and Photography. It includes iconic works by major figures on the international photography scene such as Robert Mapplethorpe, Masahisa Fukase, Nan Goldin, Daido Moriyama, and Sally Mann—all artists whose visions have challenged the norms and sensitivities of their time.
At Moderne Art Fair 2025, around sixty of these prints will be presented in a never-before-seen display. Inspired by the intimate setting of his Paris apartment—a true space for living, contemplation, and aesthetic dialogue—the presentation will offer visitors a more personal and sensitive insight into the collection. Each carefully selected piece contributes to a visual narrative that reflects the enlightened eclecticism of its author, as well as his desire to share fragments of humanity captured through singular perspectives.
This exhibition highlights not only the richness of the photographic heritage but also the fundamental role of private collectors in preserving, transmitting, and promoting contemporary creation. By hosting this exceptional presentation, Moderne Art Fair reaffirms its ambition to offer a bold cultural experience—open to all forms of expression and attentive to the bridges between history, memory, and modernity.
