OLIVIER GOY AND ANNE FULDA:
A POIGNANT MESSAGE ABOUT LIVING LIFE TO THE FULL DESPITE DISABILITY

Moderne Art Fair is delighted to welcome Olivier Goy’s photo exhibition to the fair for the second year running.
Married, father of 2, entrepreneur, photographer and diagnosed with Charcot’s disease in 2020, Olivier Goy is now fighting for research and for the place of disability. Over the last 12 months, his fight has taken him to Rwanda and Japan. For the first time, he is exhibiting these wild and urban photos. All the photos on display are on sale in aid of the Brain Institute.
Olivier Goy has just published the book Invincible with journalist Anne Fulda, published by Éditions de l’Observatoire. Anne & Olivier will be signing the book on Sunday 20 October at 2.30 pm on his stand.

A message of hope and commitment

As an ambassador for the Institut du Cerveau, Olivier has decided to donate all the profits from the sale of his photographs to this institution dedicated to research into neurological diseases.Olivier Goy, known for his inspirational fight against Charcot’s disease, is putting his photographic talent at the service of a noble cause. As an ambassador for the Institut du Cerveau, Olivier has decided to donate all the profits from the sale of his photographs to this institution dedicated to research into neurological diseases.
Through his lens, Olivier captures moments of beauty and emotion, offering a unique and personal perspective on the world around him. Every image sold not only helps to spread his art, but also supports crucial research to better understand and treat brain diseases. This generous gesture reflects her deep commitment to the cause, combining artistic passion with solidarity. By purchasing his work, you are not only supporting a talented artist, you are also contributing to an essential mission: improving the treatment and living conditions of people affected by these diseases.

In addition to his commitment to raising funds for research and raising public awareness of the reality of disability, Olivier shares his journey in the documentary Invincible Été and as an ambassador for the Institut du Cerveau (ICM). His meeting with journalist Anne Fulda, who was also affected by the loss of her mother to a similar illness, gives rise to a profound reflection on his four-year battle.Their exchange explores essential questions: How do you cope with a destabilising diagnosis? How do you interact with a patient? How can we make the most of the time we have left with our loved ones? Through a sincere, uninhibited and humorous account, this book tackles themes such as suffering, death and faith, as well as the realities experienced by loved ones and carers.

This book does not claim to offer a guide to ‘dying well’ or a manual full of certainties. It is a vibrant call to live intensely, to embrace every moment and to support each other in the most difficult moments.

The Brain Institute

RESPONDING TO A PUBLIC HEALTH CHALLENGE
1 in 8 people is directly affected by nervous system diseases (Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, brain tumours, paraplegia, depression, etc.). And with the ageing of the population, this figure is set to rise still further. Preventing, curing and treating these diseases, which affect millions of people, is our challenge. It’s a challenge we can only meet with your help and the support of everyone involved! The Institut du Cerveau (ICM) is a research centre of unrivalled international stature, innovative in its conception and organisation. By bringing together patients, doctors and researchers in the same place, the aim is to rapidly develop treatments for lesions of the nervous system so that they can be applied to patients as quickly as possible. The best scientists from all over the world are developing the most cutting-edge research in this field. To enable researchers to advance their work and give patients real hope, we all need to get involved: public authorities, private companies and individuals. All of us, without exception, because this fight concerns each and every one of us.
