In 2006, two contemporary art addicts inaugurated in Brussels a space dedicated to the long-term promotion of emerging Belgian and international artists, beginning with an exhibition of the now-renowned painter JonOne. Through a consistent and dynamic program of exhibitions, their ambition was to highlight quality and originality. Here, it balanced solo exhibitions by exclusively represented artists with group shows and exhibitions by guest artists. In March 2024, the gallery made a significant move from its Brussels address to the Belgian coast at Knokke le Zoute. Art22 Gallery – de Ville & Brouwers has since attracted both young and established collectors, sparking the creation of new contemporary art collections. Many of its represented artists have artworks in public museum collections and are featured in international auctions.
