Galerie Protée
Galerie Protée has been driven by two passions since 1969: the abstract movement of the 1950s, represented by the great founding masters and their current successors, and the expressionists. Faithful to its artists, the gallery has sometimes worked with them for over 50 years, following a guiding principle that combines poetry and sensitivity.
The gallery gives pride of place to its historic artists, in particular Abboud, Bram Bogart, Mathieu, Eugène Leroy and Marfaing, the latter being particularly highlighted with three previously unseen works before the publication of his complete catalogue raisonné. A special place is also given to artists who joined the gallery later, such as Basteau, Gardair, Claudie Laks, Stricher and Tony Soulié, who embody a contemporary expression of painting. Sculptures by Coulentianos, Subira Puig and Pavlos enrich and enliven the space.
